Can my loft be converted?

As long as there is a space of approximately 2m at the highest point in your loft, it is usually possible to convert. However, if the height is lower than this we can still convert by using our custom truss loft design. By using our online enquiry form, we can arrange to come and advise you on the best possible way to fully utilise your available space.

What can I use my space for?

The possibilities are almost endless! As demonstrated in our gallery, we have created many different rooms, from bedrooms with en-suites, to nurseries, entertainment rooms or home offices with Dormers or Velux; the use of the available space is entirely your decision. As always we will be there to guide you every step of the way.

How can I obtain a quote?

Through filling in our online enquiry form or phone us on 07966 968 483. We can arrange an appointment to come and visit you. After we have assessed your property, you will shortly receive an in depth, free no obligation quotation.
What will an appointment consist of?

An appointment can be arranged at your convenience, whether daytime, evening or weekend. In this appointment you will have the opportunity to convey your ideas and requirements whilst also being offered expert advice regarding your future loft room. With this information we can then construct a specific quotation which you will receive 3-5 days after the appointment.
Can I view a completed conversion?

Yes, we are more than happy to arrange a visit to a previously completed loft conversion. All quotations contain references.
How much will a loft conversion cost?

The price will be determined by numerous factors, such as the size of your loft and the various features included. Our quotations are in depth and carefully calculated, covering all stages from design to completion. Please ring us or fill in our online enquiry form in order to arrange an appointment to receive further specified advice.
Will I receive a guarantee?

Yes, all of our work, upon completion, receive a free five year guarantee.
Will a loft conversion add value to my property?

Although there are numerous market related factors that influence the added value, the addition of a loft conversion will typically add a significant value to a property. Such is the recognition of our loft conversions; numerous estate agents now include our lofts as a selling point for their properties.
Will I receive any after completion service?

Yes, we provide a full customer orientated service. We will be more than happy to attend to any queries you have or any situations that may arise after completion. And with our five year guarantee, you can be assured that your loft conversion is in safe hands for years to come.
How long will the visit from the sales adviser take?

We usually advise you to allow at least an hour, but this will depend on your individual requirements.
What will happen during the visit from the sales adviser?

We will listen carefully to your individual requirements and talk you through our design and manufacture process. We can demonstrate our high quality products, take some careful measurements and give you a free no obligation quote - tailored to your specific requirements.
How long does a conversion take?

A job typically takes between 4 and 8 weeks, but the precise time is largely dependent on the size of the loft and other property specific factors. We can give a clearer indication of the time it would take to convert your loft by arranging an appointment.
Do you build staircases?

Yes, we provide custom built staircases built in our own workshop. The spindles can also be designed to match your existing staircase exactly if required.
Will I need planning permission?

If your property has permitted development rights, then planning permission is not required. In all other instances, however, it is necessary to obtain planning permission from the local council which we include in out quotation.
Will I need building regulations?

Being major works, all loft conversions require building regulations from the local council which we include in our quotation.
Who will correspond with the local officials?

We carry out all necessary correspondence with the local council, including obtaining planning permission and building regulations.

Can I use my own plans?

Yes, we can undertake work from existing plans if required.
Is the undertaken work insured?

Yes, A Room At The Top Ltd is fully insured for all
necessary work.

Can a trussed rafter roof be converted?

Yes, through using our modern techniques we can convert trussed rafter roofs.
